Diagnostic Tools

In order to reach our full potential we need to make changes to our thinking and behavior. In order to do this we first need to gain awareness of our current thinking and behavioral preferences. At IMC & P we have chosen tools which help individuals, teams and whole organizations to gain this awareness, which can then be used to decide upon an appropriate course of action for change. Here is a selection of the tools that our clients have found invaluable over the years.

Human SynergisticsHuman Synergistics™ Life Styles Inventory™ (LSI) 1 & 2
The LSI helps individuals to strengthen thinking and behavioural styles that promote their effectiveness and moderate styles that prevent them from realizing their potential. The LSI provides invaluable and otherwise unavailable information that can motivate, guide and track the progress of self-development initiatives. Participants complete a questionnaire to create a LSI 1 report providing insight into their own perceptions of their thinking styles while an LSI 2 report incorporates 360 degree feedback from colleagues.

Most Frequently Used For
  • Promoting self-understanding and guiding self-development
  • Improving capabilities as a team member or individual contributor
  • Strengthening organisations by enhancing individual effectiveness

Human SynergisticsHuman Synergistics™ Group Styles Inventory™ (GSI)
The GSI assesses the way in which team members interact with one another and approach problems and decisions. Insights into these interaction styles enable teams to identify what they need to do to work together more effectively and achieve synergy—that is, to ensure that their interactive efforts have a greater impact than the sum of their individual efforts.

Most Frequently Used for:

  • Assessing the styles and processes of teams as they work to solve “real-life” problems
  • Improving team dynamics to enhance the quality of team decisions
  • Increasing members’ satisfaction with their teams

Human SynergisticsHuman Synergistics™ Organisational Culture & Effectiveness Inventories™ (OCI/OEI)
Used together, the OCI and OEI generate the most comprehensive feedback available for guiding and monitoring organisational change and development programmes. The inventories, along with the integrated OCI/OEI Feedback Report, provide a detailed picture of the organisation’s culture, the factors leading to and reinforcing that culture, and the outcomes of culture.

Most Frequently Used for:
  • Promoting an understanding of the organisation’s current culture and identifying gaps in relation to the ideal
  • Motivating change by demonstrating how cultural norms are interfering with effectiveness at the member, sub-unit, and organisational levels
  • Identifying systems, structures, technologies, and other “levers for change” to move the culture in a more Constructive direction
  • Monitoring the impact of organisational change initiatives over time
